Electro magnetic fields
Does anyone know how I can measure the strength of the emission from a cell phone tower, and if there is radiation in my house? Is there a firm that does such things around? I'd like to know what idiot on the council sanctioned the erection of one right in the middle of an urbanisation. Clearly he doesn't have to live on the urb!
alison,
maybe the idiot on the council who sanctioned the erection knows better than the idiot who uses the mobil phone. Maybe that idiot is smarter than you? And by writing this I don´t mean you are an idiot.
Maybe the idiot council knows that at distances greater than a few tens of meters from the antennas, the exposure is very low. In many cases where the general public is concerned, the exposure level is less than one-thousandth of the reference values. And also that the antennas have low exposure in directions other than the forward direction. For antennas located on facades, this means that the signals in the spaces behind the antenna is well below the limit values, especially as the wall has some dampening ability.
The technical equipment of the base station and the cables to the antenna provides no exposure of importance. Quite near the surface of the cables can be in some cases with sensitive measuring equipment to measure certain field strength, however, well below the reference value.
The exposure from mobile phone base stations are always lower than from their own mobile phones during calls.
So alison, the best solution for all idiots and others are to stop using their mobil phones!
Ok - fair comment reindeerkeeper..I only use my mobile in emergencies, BTW .. Im not talking wall mounted - Im talking tower that has gotten bigger and bigger in the 4 years Ive lived beside it. Now the cooling system on it keeps everyone within 100 yds of it awake at night. Residents should not be subjected to the likes of that, and towers should be placed out in the open land at the edge of the urb.- not right in the middle of a residential street! However I asked a simple question, and still would appreciate an answer.. is there anyone in La Ma who measures radiation levels?
alison,
I can understand that if the cooling system keeps everyone within 91,4 metres of it awake at night is bad. Or within a radius of 3-400 m. 91,4 m or 3-400 m radius??? Not easy to follow what you mean.
The other thing, electromagnetic radiation, is not something you will notice if you don´t live very very close (a few metres) to the antenna.
Authority has conducted measurements of radiation from mobile phone base stations in various outdoor environments. The results show that the summed signal strength from the frequencies used for mobile telephony is normally between a millionth and one-thousandth of the Authority's reference value.
The reference value is exceeded on individual meters directly in front of the antenna's radiating surface. In cases where the antennas are located on towers or building facades, this means that the public can not normally be exposed to levels above the reference value.
But you should go to the office and complain to the idiot about the noise from the cooling system.
Can not be that difficult to find the responsible for this thing. There are perhaps not so many idiots in the office.
Alison,
I gather you have lost the plot of what is happening.
The answer is normally quite simple, Reindeer entered the room, which normally means common sense leaves. Unfortunately he (or she), doesn't get any better, the longer the comment goes on, and the more diverse the replies by him (or Her) get.
Yes lost the plot completely - one minute we're talking electromagnetic an the next we've lost a village idiot...And I still don't have the answer to the original question I asked!
Alan,
which normally means common sense leaves?
What do you mean by that? What has been wrong with my explanation of the alleged fear of electromagnetic fields? Are you some expert who knows that I am wrong? I know you like to call me lots of less flattering words, but this is a serious matter which I have tried to answer correctly.
And I do not like to call people working at the Council Office for idiot. That´s why I continued writing that word hoping someone could see how bad it looked.
And Alan, I do not think a woman would like to look like the picture of me. So I am not a she!
Reindeer,
Seem to insist on proving me right so thanks for that.
I was specifically talking to Alison, when I mentioned losing the plot, in her next comment she actually agreed.
But as I have mentioned to you before, read the comment properly before attempting to answer something. As for my knowledge of Electromagnetics, my knowledge is absolutely Zilch, which is why I didn't answer any of alisons questions, Funnily enough even after your explicit answer (which could of been good enough to of come straight out of a textbook, I still have zilch knowledge of electromagnetics,
Got to admit, I do get a laugh from your comments, although really I don't suppose they are meant to be funny
Ok Alan, this thread is obviously too complicated for you to understand especially since you obviously didn't read my comments and answers to the questions. But maybe you know better the difference between within 91,4 metres (100 yds) of the antenna and a within a radius of 3-400 m. But I understand your difficulty in understanding why I wrote this. radios of 300 - 400 m was copied directly from the comment by alison. But this text has been edited and as far as know the only person who could have done this is alison. Why?
I do not mind if you get a good laugh from my comments. You are welcome!
OK..reindeer keeper - and I think I know who you are - I thought I was quite clear - it was you who complicated it by not answering a simple question - beginning to think you must be a politician... 100 yds is the distance from which the sound of the cooling system can be heard. I live 30 yds from the mast. The distance the waves travel is around 300-400 metres according to experts. I have not edited any of the posts, unless correcting a spelling error perhaps once. Have I clarified everything for you now? And I still would like someone to measure the radioactivity, if its all the same to you, - just to put my mind to rest.
Just out of interest Alison did you try the Town Hall? I ask as I have called by twice this past week and on both occasions shutters were down?
Yes, I think they are closed for the whole of August by the looks of it...I'll try again Monday!
alison, if you haven't edited any post your writing in one of the first comments ...within a radius of 3-400 m.... has disappeared by itself. Ok, mysterious things happen.
Why dont you go to the Council Office and ask which Idiot did it!!
